FINAL BLOG OF 2013/2014

      This semester has been filled with new experiances and new ideas that have made the class a success. My fitness has tremendously improved and makes me proud to know that my hard work really is paying off. When I started the class. my beep test level was at a 6 and now four months later i have a beep test level of 8. I am extremly proud of my improvement because ever since grade eight I never believed that I could be someone to reach a level of 7 or 8 and now that I have, i believe i can go higher.
       Class participation, I try and give a 100% to each class. When trying something new or something that I'm uncomfortable with I try to keep participating. However, i find that something that I didn't like before i grow to like it more and more as we keep doing it. For example curcuits, I despised them I found them boring and not beneficial but after doing them so many times in class and actually trying my best, I find that they have a great impact on my fitness. I found that i needed to do it for myself, no one else will benfit from trying hard but me, keeping this mind set I am able to achieve something that I did not have before.
         Field trips have made this class unique. Hot Yoga, for me, was a sensational experiance. I absolutly loved it. This would be the perfect example of an activity that I would not have tried on my own. I am really glad i tried this because now me and my mom are contemplating on making another visit to the place.
       My confidence in myself has been greatly boosted, insecurities that i had many of them have vanished and I plan on eliminating other insecurities aswell. My confidence in myself had overall been greatly improved and I have found a new love for different activities. I find that i like to run and trying new dances.
    For the future, my mom bought a treadmill and I plan on going on it at least once every three days. I find that staying active will help with academic stress and even a great way to get your mind off of problems. Also being able to be confident because of the way you look is also not a bad thing :) I will definitly miss having different ideas for activities and going on field trips with friends that can motivate you to try harder. I found the entire class to be motivating, there were different strengths in different people therefore different people were motivating in different classes. during dance week those that dances were motivating to watch and try my best. those that are extremly fit are extremly motivating during fitness days.
This semester has been a blast and an entirly new experience to that of the previous year. New People bring New Experiences. Thank You Get Fit Class of 2013/2014 for an amazing year!!

My Midterm Refelction

                         Get fit has been a great experiance, as I had expected. New people, new attitudes and new ideas make the class different from the last. To be honest, like every other girl I continusly compare and judge my body with those of other girls, but this class has allowed me to see what my body is truly capable of. This class, I believe should be a must for all girls.

                         In class I have continously pushed my self a little further. For example, the last beep test I had eaten too much chocolate during my spare, and I was feeling quite nauseous. When we began the beep test by 3.3 i was ready to drop out, but i kept going determined to beat my previous score and I eventually dropped out 7.8 beating my old score by 0.5.
                        During fitness days I push myself, and my friends even commented "if i were you, I would have dropped out already". These kind of comments really pushed me to try my best and motivate my friends to do better. I don't let anything hold me back. During runs and beep tests and even during regular P.E. days I sometime ditch my friends (but they don't get mad :) cause they know me), I continously push myself.
                       During regular P.E days I try and motivate myself and those around me. There are many games and ideas that I don't find fun, but I tell myself to try something new. I usually tend to enjoy it more than I thought I would. This is another reason I took Get Fit, it throws new experiances in my face, forcing me to face them find the good in it.
                          The field trips that I have so far participated in has opened my eyes to the fun and creative ways to stay active while you have fun with friends. Fencing, a new field trip that we did not get to participate in last year, was an amazing experience. I never would have thought that I was that aggressive when I was trying to win. It was espcially fun when we got points and we were dressed in the full outfit. I felt like I belonged on the set of  the parent trap. :)
                         During my out of school dance, I have seen an imrovement in my fitness, I am able to endre the warm up and the dance practice for much longer than any ofthe other members. This makes me proud and I am glad that I am seeing such significant improvements in my fitness. 
                       All the field trips and each P.E class and out of school dance has shown me something new that I can do. I believe that i should recieve an 'A' with a percentage of  90.

MY INSPIRATION

      Get Fit so far has been exactly what I have hoped for. Exactly like last year I am surrounded by kind and motivated girls who help me to push myself.
           My fitness increases everyday and I try to give my 100% to each class. So far each beep test I've done has increased. First a six the second a seven. I hope to keep increasing my beep test level. My favourite fitness day was probably the trio workout and the 30 on 30 off.  My motivation is to over all be a healthier person but I am going on a trip to costa rica in the spring break and maybe losing a few extra pounds wouldn't hurt.
       The first field trip we had was to the Panorama school of dance. Though this was my second time going to the dance acadamy the experiance was a whole new thing, because of the people that came. The dance may have been a little out of my comfort zone and a completly different style to what I regularly do I found myself pushing myself to try something new and do push my boundries a little further. You could see everyone sometimes struggling and missing a few steps but everyone kept going, giving each other encouraging smiles. This alone motivated me to kick my leg a little higher and get lost into the dance a little faster.

FIRST 2013/2014 POST!!

           I am taking get fit again because of the many thrilling and motivating experiences from last year. Since last year I have had my eyes opened to the benefit of fitness and the simple and fun ways to achieve overall benefit, Fitness and enjoyment wise. I find myself more motivated to go on runs or go biking with my family. This class had also helped me find new ways of finding a way to be active with friends and family. This year I hope to achieve what I was able to last year if not more. Make new friends, to build stronger relationships with friends I currently have and to benefit myself as well.
 
“The only time you fail is when you fall down and stay down.” I am determined to pick myself up each time I feel I can do better, this is my goal!!!! To know my limit and to push just a little farther.

Final Reflection

        This semester has been an amazing one. its full of new experiences, memories and friends. first of all I am really thankful towards Sullivan for offering such an opportunity for girls like us.
       I started out as a girl that participated in P.E, but didn't have a full appreciation towards it. As I continued through Get Fit and was applauded for doing my best at the end of each class. I always left the class with a smile, because I knew that I had given my best to each class.
       Now that the end has approached, I keep lingering in the memories of what we had done in previous classes. how the get fit girls had motivated each other and pushed each other out of each others comfort zones. We all had revelations at to what we could do already and what our bodies will be able to. We had extraordinary experiences all while making new friends and memories.
   Personally I have felt and have seen the improvements, I can run a little faster, jump a little higher and push my self a little harder. I never felt the need to compare myself with others in my class, which I had been doing the past years, this boosted my self confidence and I was able to focus on what  I was able to accomplish. When I have this mind set, I felt as if I could do anything.
    I want to be able to face society's definition of women and girls and be able to know myself that I am able to make a small change, if get fit had taught me anything it was that "to start to make a change you must change yourself". I am able to do what I have been telling myself I couldn't, I am delighted to be able to say so.
  
 I may have been unsure with my decision of joining get fit at the beginning, but now I'm absolutely sure that it was one the best decisions that I have made. I am glad that I risked a little to gain a lot!
    I have not fully reached my goals yet, but I am step closer to them and now they are within my reach. Get Fit is a class that has to be experienced, the warm family like feeling that you get from this class, I don't believe that I have felt in any other class.
